Corporate Funding

Apellis may consider providing support for the following types of Corporate Funding.

Donation. A donation is a charitable contribution to a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization. The donation is used to support patient advocacy, improvements in patient care, and may include humanitarian and emergency support requests.

Sponsorship. A sponsorship is a funding opportunity provided to healthcare-related organizations. Sponsorship support is used to support groups and programs focused on Apellis’ therapeutic areas with potential to raise awareness of important issues through healthcare-related events or programs. Apellis receives tangible benefits in exchange for funding.

Funding for Sponsorships and Donations are available for the following:

Advocacy/Awareness
Community funding
Conferences/Events
Corporate memberships
Fundraisers
Promotional or medical/scientific exhibits

Submission Process

Are you ready to submit your Corporate Funding grant request?

Corporate Funding requests must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the activity start date.

The following information is required for corporate funding application submission:

Brochure, letter, or another document that clearly defines the event, including information such as the agenda, expected number of participants, location and venue as well as whether other companies have been invited to support the event, and
Prospectus or other document that defines the cost of each level of funding and accompanying benefits being offered; and
Current W9 For-profit or 501 c3 Non-profit, and a program budget

Decisions for corporate funding requests are made on a case-by-case basis. Apellis assesses applications based upon need, design, scientific rigor, independence, and compliance, as well as the potential to improve patient care and outcomes. Approvals depend on available funding, the volume of requests, and alignment with Apellis’ scientific areas of interest. Apellis may request additional information or clarification about the Corporate Funding activity description or proposed budget, or other items, prior to a final decision. Apellis receives many qualified applications and regret that we cannot fund all of them. We encourage organizations to reapply for future programs and initiatives.

Please expect to receive a response within 4 weeks with a funding decision. In all cases, Apellis notifies applicants of our decision by email.
