Maha Katabi

Maha Katabi, Ph.D., CFA


Dr. Katabi is Partner, Private Equity at Sectoral Asset Management. She is the portfolio manager for the New Emerging Medical Opportunities (NEMO) strategy and responsible for investments in private healthcare companies. She joined Sectoral in 2008, as investment manager, and became Partner, Private Equity in 2012.

Prior to joining Sectoral, she was vice-president with Ventures West, a private venture capital firm with over USD700 million under management that she joined in 2004. In this capacity, she managed healthcare investments across Canada and the United States, and served as a director on the board of Macrogenics Inc (Nasdaq: MGNX) and Resonant Medical (acquired by Elekta). Previously, she was an associate at T2C2 Capital, a venture capital firm she had joined in 1999 to focus on seed and early stage investments in the life sciences.

Dr. Katabi is currently a director of Effector Therapeutics, F2G Ltd, Exactis Innovation and an observer to the board of Aprea AB.

She received a Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 1999, and completed a B.Sc. in Biology in 1994 at McGill University. She obtained her CFA charter in 2011.
