Professor Bruno Crestani received his MD degree from Bicetre Medical School, University Paris-Sud and his PhD degree from Paris 5 University. He completed his residency in Pulmonology and his Research Training focused on lung fibrosis.
Professor Crestani is a Scientific Committee member of the French Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) cohort (COFI); a founding member of the European IPF Network (eurIPFnet); Head of the Fibrosis, Inflammation and REmodeling (DHU FIRE) university department; and a LabEx INFLAMEX member. He is a ATS member; a past Scientific Secretary for the Société de Pneumologie de Langue Française (SPLF); the Conference and Seminars Director for the ERS; and an Associate Editor for Respiratory Research and the European Respiratory Journal.
Professor Crestani serves as Principal Investigator in clinical trials for IPF, asthma, pulmonary embolism, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). He is also the Research Director of the Inflammation and Lung Fibrogenesis group affiliated with INSERM U1152, Physiopathology and Epidemiology of Respiratory Insufficiency, University Paris-Diderot. In recent years, his team has focused on elucidating pathophysiological mechanisms of IPF.
